Glad to see more competition in this PSU space. I bought the Silverstone 600W SFX PSU when it came out and it didn't last more than 18 months. When it was released, most reviews praised it, but jonnyguru pointed out they used lower tier capacitors which was appalling when the PSU retailed for $130+. Looking at current user reviews on newegg, that Silverstone PSU is now plagued with a very high failure rate.

It's funny you mention that my 450 watt Silverstone SFX failed after a year (covered under warranty and pretty quick turnaround) and I suspect it was a capacitor issue because it made no noises and just died, no smell, buzzing or anything. Thought about opening it but what's the point it was under warranty.

Nice to see more SFX PSU. Hope they'll expand the range downwards wattage-wise. I doubt there's a single-gpu system you can build with today's parts that needs 550W.
My rig (4670 cpu, 1060 gpu, 1 HDD, 1 SSD) runs a 400W platinum PSU and pulls a max of ~200W at the wall in games. Used to be 255W when I had a GTX760, but even then that's <60% of the PSU's rated output. No point in buying overspec'd PSUs to use them so far outside their efficiency 'powerband'- just generates excess heat in your system...
